The President of the Republic of Macedonia d-r Gjorge Ivanov sent a letter with expressions of condolences to Sejm Marshall Bronislaw Komorowski, - acting President of the Republic of Poland, on the occasion of the enormous tragedy that occured in Smolensk, in which President Kaczynski and a number of representatives of the political elite of the country lost their lives.

In his letter, President Ivanov expresses the deepest sympaty to the Polish people, President Kaczynskis family and the families of the killed, on his own behalf and on the behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.

- The Republic of Macedonia has felt the pain and knows what it means to lose a leader and a statesman in such a tragic manner. President Trajkovski and his work still live in our thoughts. I'm certain that the name of President Kaczynski will remain deeply engraved in the memory of the Polish people - write President Ivanov in his letter.

President of the Republic of Macedonia d-r Gjorge Ivanov signed in the Book of condolences that was opened in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, on the occassion of the air crash in Smolensk, Russia, that claimed the lives of President Kaczynski and high representatives of the political elite of the Republic of Poland

The President of the Republic of Macedonia d-r Gjorge Ivanov sent a letter with expressions of condolences to the President of the United States of America Barack Obama, after a deadly explosion that killed a number of miners in a coal mine in the state of West Virginia.

President, d-r Gjorge Ivanov, awarded today the Order of Merits for Macedonia to Esma Redzepova Teodosievska. The medal is awarded to Redzepova Teodosievska for her exceptioanl results achieved in her many years of her professional music career. She has given an immense contibution to the promotion and enrichment of the musical heritage of Macedonia, and is a patron of a number of humanitarian activities. With all her work, Esma has contributed to the promotion of the Republic of Macedonia on the World stage.

President Ivanov congratulated the members of the Jewish community in the Republic of Macedonia on the celebration of Passover.
