President Ivanov and his wife, Ms. Maja Ivanova, attended today the central Christmas celebration at the Cathedral Church of "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje which was led by the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia, H.H. Stefan.

- To all believers who celebrate today the Nativity of Christ – Christmas I congratulate this great Christian holiday and I wish them everything I wish for myself and my family - joy, happiness, success in life, tranquility, peace and prosperity in their homes and success. As holidays unite us and as these holidays we are together, may we be together throughout the year and may there be success and prosperity in our entire nation, President Ivanov said.

In the wake of the great Christian holiday Christmas, second grade students from the state music and ballet school "llija Nikolovski-Luj" visited today the residence of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov.

Young ballet dancers sung the Christmas carol, performed a special program for President Ivanov, his wife Ms. Maja Ivanova and son Ivan, and were treated with Christmas presents.
Ms. Maja Ivanova stressed that they continue the tradition in their home and as in any Orthodox family, to have their home open for the children who announce the birth of Christ.

"Today our guests are students of the ballet section within the state music and ballet school in Skopje. With a smile on their faces, with their choreography and costumes, they brought joy, happiness and beauty in our home in the wake of the great Christian holiday - Christmas. May all Orthodox Christians have the most beautiful Christmas Eve. Let the light of Christ bring joy, beauty and immense happiness in their homes. May they have positive thoughts and happy moments", Ms. Ivanova said congratulating Christmas to all who celebrate it.

The Ivanov family will follow the tradition this Christmas Eve and divide bread with a coin. Ms. Maja Ivanova said that last year the coin went to the house and brought happiness to all, and added that she is indeed most satisfied with the success of their son Ivan, who graduated last year and enrolled at postgraduate studies.

The tradition of having visitors on the day before Christmas in the residence of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, was established in 2011.

Congratulating the New Year, President Ivanov, on his behalf and on behalf of all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, expressed gratitude to the members of ARM for what they do for the defense and peace in the country. He extended congratulations to all the soldiers of ARM who are in peacekeeping missions in other countries.

The desire of all soldiers and officers is finally this year the Republic of Macedonia to get what it deserves - to become a member of NATO, President Ivanov said.

President Ivanov received a report by the competent officers in charge of his security, and afterwards the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces discovered the stone plaque dedicated to the army unit “wolves” where they will give oath in the future.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, was accompanied by the Defense Minister, Zoran Jolevski, and the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Goranco Kotevski.

The wife of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Maja Ivanova, along with her son Ivan, visited today the Pediatric Clinic in Skopje and gave Christmas presents to the sick children.

The Director of the Pediatric Clinic, Aspazija Sofijanova, expressed her gratitude and said that the First Lady of the state is a friend of the Clinic and spent the last day of the year to pay little attention to the children that resulted in many smiles.

- With a positive thought and energy, with some attention and shaking hands, all children who stay at the Clinic got the smile on their faces back. I believe that our cooperation will continue in the coming year too, Sofijanova said.

Ivan Ivanov said that the wishes all children to return to their homes as soon as possible and fill them with their children’s carefree smiles.

- I wish all children and all families happy New Year and Christmas holidays with best wishes for health, happiness, success, love, prosperity and only positive thoughts in the New 2015, Ivanov said.

Because of the treatment, 80 children, most of whom are at the Oncology department, along with their mothers, will spend the New Year’s Eve at the Children’s Clinic.

The Sports Center "Jane Sandanski" of the Architecture Studio "Rado Engineering" designed by Gjoko Radovanovic and Goran Todorovic is the best work of architecture for 2014.

The award of the Association of Architects of Macedonia was presented by the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, who is the patron of the event.

"The quality of the architecture is achieved through competition of ideas, concepts and visions of what the space should look like in which people can live, work, practice sports, be creative. Encouraging the development of the architecture and the architectural creation, as well as affirming the Macedonian architecture and art in the international arena, the Association of Architects of Macedonia this year again, for already 38 years, is awarding the best architectural achievements. This recognition is even greater because it is being awarded by the colleagues who best assess the value of the construction ventures and architectural achievements", President Ivanov said at the awarding ceremony which was held at the Museum of the City of Skopje.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, delivered a speech on the occasion of the establishment of the Alumni Association of the "Engineering Ring" winners, which was held in the premises of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Skopje.

President Ivanov said to the winners of the "Engineering Ring" award that the award implies responsibility to offer new solutions and wished the Alumni Association to be another entity that will provide a significant contribution to the overall life, because engineers are needed in all professions and fields.

"Being awarded with this recognition, you have taken the responsibility to offer solutions, to be creative and innovative and to contribute to this exciting world in which we live. Throughout life you will be faced with challenges and offering solutions, your solutions should be offered to your own country, the Republic of Macedonia, as well. We live in a world in which the absence of ideas and solutions is felt, we need new ideas, new solutions, open-minded people who will contribute to the overall life", President Ivanov said.

On the occasion of 55th anniversary of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, President Ivanov was awarded with a token of appreciation.
