On the occasion of the great Christian holiday Resurrection of Christ - Easter, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation note to the Bishop of Skopje and Apostolic Exarch, Dr. Kiro Stojanov, and to all Christian believers who celebrate Easter according to the Gregorian calendar.

It is my pleasure to congratulate you and all believers of the Catholic Church in the Republic of Macedonia the Christian holiday - Easter.
For Christians, the day of Christ's resurrection is the greatest and most important day in the history of mankind. Praising the victory of Jesus Christ over death, we gratefully accept the only sacrifice that can redeem us and free us from the power of sin. This holiday is a reminder that every person has precious value and inalienable human dignity, which is an inherent right and a mutual obligation to respect and accept our dearest and neighbors with all their differences.

Congratulating you on the great feast, I wish you and all believers to spend these Easter holidays in spiritual peace, harmony, sharing love in your families.

Dr. Gjorge Ivanov

On the occasion of the great Jewish holiday Passover, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation note to Mrs. Berta Romano-Nikolik, President of the Jewish Community in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as to all members of the Jewish Community in the Republic of Macedonia.

Dear Mrs. Romano-Nikolik,

It is a special honor and great pleasure to congratulate you and the members of the Jewish Community in the Republic of Macedonia on one of the greatest Jewish holidays, the Feast of the Passover.

Passover celebrates the liberation of the Jews from the Egyptian slavery, and the celebration of this great holiday contains the message of freedom, justice and dignity and symbolizes new birth and hope.

The Jewish community in the country has a special contribution to building and respecting social values and religious diversity. It is an inseparable part of the Macedonian model of coexistence based on respect and unity and fostering of different traditions. May this Passover also be a reminder for us not to allow anyone to encroach on our unity, dignity and freedom.

Congratulating you, once again, the feast of freedom and worship, I am sending you my most sincere wishes for peace, spiritual peace, mutual trust and friendship.

Dr. Gjorge Ivanov

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, in a telephone conversation with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi, congratulated him on winning the presidential election, wishing him great success in the execution of the responsible office.

President Ivanov expressed confidence that the relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Arab Republic of Egypt will continue to develop in the spirit of friendship, mutual understanding and respect.

In the telephone conversation, the Macedonian President expressed satisfaction with the excellent political dialogue with President Al-Sisi, saying that under his leadership, a new period of mutual partnership, trust and friendship between the two countries flourished.

The two presidents pledged to further enhance the overall bilateral relations by intensifying the cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest, especially in the fields of economy and trade, as well as in the sphere of security and intelligence.

President Ivanov expressed hope that Egypt, under the leadership of President Al-Sisi, will be a country-leader and guarantor of security, security and peace in the North African region in the future, too.

During the telephone conversation, the two presidents agreed to a return visit of President Al-Sisi to the Republic of Macedonia.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the United Republic of Tanzania to the Republic of Macedonia.

At the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Macedonia, resident in Belgrade, H.E. Mr. Anders Christian Hougaard, President Ivanov expressed satisfaction with the successful development of the Macedonian-Danish relations and cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

President Ivanov thanked for the support and assistance from the Kingdom of Denmark regarding the Macedonian Euro-Atlantic integration, expressing conviction that it will continue in the future. The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Hougaard expressed readiness to strengthen the excellent relations with the Macedonian people by promoting the cooperation in many areas.

At the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Macedonia, based in Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Christian Beaver, the two interlocutors discussed the possibilities for promoting economic cooperation and trade between the two countries, as well as for boosting the overall bilateral relations and cooperation.

President Ivanov expressed confidence that the European and Euro-Atlantic integration determination will also present a strong bridge connecting Macedonia and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the future. In this regard, the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Beaver, stressed that his country strongly supports the aspirations of our country to membership in the Euro-Atlantic community.

At the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania with residence in Rome, H.E. Mr. George Kahema Madafa, President Ivanov stressed that despite the geographical distance between the two countries, there are opportunities for development and improvement of the overall relations. The two interlocutors exchanged views on regional and global issues, as well as on finding the most acceptable forms for bilateral economic co-operation.

President Ivanov wished the newly appointed ambassadors success in carrying out their responsible diplomatic duty.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a letter of condolence to the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of the fire in the Siberian city of Kemerovo.

Distinguished Mr. President,

It is with great regret that I received the news about the fire in the mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo and caused a real tragedy in your country. I sincerely regret the lost lives, the human suffering and the damage caused by this terrible tragedy.

Your Excellency, there are no appropriate words that will reduce your and the grief of the citizens of Russia, but let me express my sincere and deep sympathy to you in these sad moments, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and on my personal behalf.

Please, Your Excellency, convey the expressions of the most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the entire friendly people of the Russian Federation, and convey wishes for a quick recovery to the injured.

Претседателот на Република Македонија, д-р Ѓорге Иванов, денеска прими делегација на Политичкo безбедносниот комитет на Европската унија, подготвително тело на Советот на Европската унија, составено од претставници на министерствата за надворешни работи на земјите членки во Брисел.

На средбата беа разменети мислења за аспирациите на Република Македонија за членство во Европската унија, актуелните состојби во регионот, особено во контекст на заканите од илегална миграција, борбата против тероризмот и радикализмот, и кризниот менаџмент.

На средбата претседателот Иванов истакна дека е потребен единствен и координиран одговор на заканите но и развој на превентивен механизам во борбата против насилниот екстремизам и радикализам и странските терористички борци, а државите од Западен Балкан да се интегрираат во архитектурата на безбедносниот систем на ЕУ со непречен пристап до сите бази на податоци.

Според претедателот Иванов, ниту една земја од регионот нема капацитет самостојно да се справи со илегалната миграција и посочи на потребата од соодветна европска стратегија поддржана со финансиска помош, што е од витално значење за регионалната стабилност. Во тој контекст, претседателот Иванов го истакна значењето на помошта на земјите од Вишеградската група, преку присуството на нивни полициски службеници на северната и јужната граница.

На средбата беше искажан интерес за дефинирање на правна рамка за партнерство со Унијата во однос на заштита на границите, контратероризмот и кризниот менаџмент.

Претседателот Иванов на средбата рече дека интеграцијата во Европската Унија останува еден од основните надворешно - политички приоритети на Република Македонија. Според претседателот Иванов, отворањето на пристапните преговори со Европската унија ќе даде силен импулс за натамошна трансформација на македонското општество и ќе биде најдобар одговор пред предизвиците со кои се соочува земјата.
