The wife of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Maja Ivanova, paid a visit to Ankara at the invitation of the Hacettepe University and the Turkish Agency for Support and Development TIKA. Ms. Ivanova was accompanied at this visit by Assoc. MA Dr. sci. Aspazija Sofijanova, Director of the Clinic for Children's Diseases in Skopje. President's wife, during her visit to the Hacettepe University, was informed about the university clinic, especially the Children's Hospital within the Medical School. Host of Ms. Ivanova during her visit was Hacettepe University Rector, Prof. Dr. Murat Tuncer. During the visit, Ms. Ivanova was briefed about the functioning of the Hacettepe University and the Children's Clinic according to the latest and highest international standards. During the visit to the Children's Clinic within the Medical School, Ms. Ivanova met several renowned professors from the University and doctors at the Clinic.
Ms. Ivanova had the opportunity to visit the Center for Diagnosis, Treatment and Research for children with autism, a special institute within the University of Ankara, to exchange views on the situation of autism in both countries, diagnosis, methods of treatment, therapy for autistic children, as well as to learn about the research conducted by the institute.
The wife of the President during the visit met with Dr. Serdar Cham, President of TIKA and Dr. Mahmut Cevik, Director of Balkans and South Europe in TIKA. At the meeting, Ms. Ivanova and Dr. Sofijanova informed about the functioning of the first emergency department at the Children's Clinic, a project that Dr. Cevik, as a former Director of the Office of TIKA in Skopje, implemented under the auspices of Ms. Maja Ivanova. The meeting discussed the possibilities for future cooperation projects, especially in the field of pediatrics and autism in the Republic of Macedonia.
