The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Mr. Nikola Dimitrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia.

At the meeting, Minister Dimitrov orally informed about the recent developments related to the talks on the name issue, without submitting any written document.

President Ivanov stressed at the meeting that the failure to abide by the legal provisions for concluding international agreements, the entire process resembles a personal agreement between the two prime ministers.

"The whole process resembles a personal agreement between Prime Minister Zaev and Prime Minister Tsipras and there is no national consensus provided in the Republic of Macedonia. My position is that I do not accept a solution to the name issue for overall use, i.e. erga omnes", the Macedonian President said.

President Ivanov underlined that the conclusion of an international agreement should be in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia, rather than to foresee its amendment.
