The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, congratulated the Head of the Islamic Religious Community in the Republic of Macedonia, Reis-ul-ulema Hadzi Sulejman efendi Rexhepi, the members of the Riyaset and all members of the Islamic religion in the Republic of Macedonia the beginning of the Ramadan fasting.

Dear Reis-ul-ulema Hadzi Sulejman efendi Rexhepi,

Let me congratulate you personally and the members of the Riyaset, mufti, imams and all citizens of Islamic religion in the Republic of Macedonia, the beginning of the Ramadan fasting.

In Islam, Ramadan is the holy month; it is the month of prayer, goodness, forgiveness, generosity and love. During Ramadan, spiritual ascension and bodily purification are celebrated.

The days of fasting are an opportunity for every believer to open his heart to generosity and humanity, helping the poor and the weak, and praying for the forgiveness of his sins.

May this holiday be an incentive for mutual help and respect, because only together, respecting the differences, we will be able to build a brighter future for all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.

In the spirit of the feast, I wish you pleasant Ramadan fasting. I wish peace, prosperity, love and forgiveness to all members of the Islamic religion in the country.
