President Ivanov receives the participants on the 57th edition of the Struga Poetry Evenings

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today, at the Villa Biljana in Ohrid, the winner of the Golden Wreath award at the Struga Poetry Evenings, the Polish poet Adam Zagajewski, the winner of the "Bridges of Struga" award of the SPE and UNESCO, the Finnish poet Pauli Tapio, and the organizers of the 57th edition of the Struga Poetry Evenings.
President Ivanov congratulated the awarded poets, assuming that the received awards are recognition for their overall poetic activity.
"Struga Poetry Evenings a real joy every year for the city of Struga, as well as for all poetry lovers. The festival is an important cultural event in the world of literature, a manifestation through which, as through an open window, you can see and hear what is happening in the world poetry", President Ivanov said at the meeting.
At the reception, President Ivanov acknowledged the overall organization of the Struga Poetry Evenings, and expressed expectation that the successful organization of this supreme international cultural event will continue in the future, which is of particular importance for the presentation of the Macedonian and world poetic creativity and the affirmation of Republic of Macedonia in the world.
This year's 57th Struga Poetry Evenings are attended by 30 poets from 29 countries of the world, as well as 50 poets from Macedonia.
In 2011, President Ivanov honored the manifestation "Struga Poetry Evenings" with the Order of Merit for Macedonia.
