The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Ms. Geneviève Darrieussecq, State Secretary in the Ministry of Armed Forces of the French Republic.

The meeting exchanged views on the overall bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the French Republic, including views on defense cooperation.

The meeting expressed satisfaction for the continued excellent cooperation in the field of defense and discussed the possibilities for its further deepening and intensification.

In the context of the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the Republic of Macedonia, President Ivanov stressed that membership in the European Union and NATO remains a strategic goal of the Republic of Macedonia.
