The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Mr. Metodija Koloski, President of the Washington-based United Macedonian Diaspora.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the influence of the Macedonian diaspora, the ways and opportunities for promoting the Macedonian values ​​and their contribution to international affirmation of the Republic of Macedonia. In that direction, the President of the United Macedonian Diaspora informed President Ivanov on their current and planned activities, as well as on the challenges they face.

President Ivanov stressed that, as before, he will continue to support the Macedonian Diaspora, stressing that all their successes are successes for the Republic of Macedonia, too.

The Macedonian President called for unity of the representatives of the Macedonian Diaspora and their further active involvement and contribution to the development and promotion of the relations and cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the United States.

“With your sincere support for Macedonia, by nurturing the Macedonian name and identity, with the promotion of our tradition, language and culture, you give an example that should be followed by this and the next generations of Macedonians in the diaspora”, the Macedonian President said at the meeting with Koloski.

The two interlocutors exchanged views on the current political situation in the Republic of Macedonia.
