Dear citizens,

Allow me to express my public support for the action "Color the world orange in 16 days"; an action whose aim is to bring the attention of our entire society towards the rooting out of all forms of violence against women and girls.

This past week, orange became the color of solidarity and support for the rights of women and girls that are an unalienable part of universal human rights and the right to human dignity.

Women are the pillars of family and an integral part of political, social, economic and cultural life in the Republic of Macedonia. It is our duty to respect this and to promote the right of women to education, to live their lives and raise their children with love, security and dignity.

A dignified man, husband and father will fight all forms of discrimination of women; against injustice, violence and repression.

As President, but also as a husband, I wish to call upon the youth and elderly, men and women, public persons and non – governmental sector to actively take part in the campaign to Stop violence against women – NOW!

I invite you to mobilize public opinion together, to encourage victims and to stand together against discrimination of women.

Let us stand against prejudice, old habits and stereotypes.

The activities do not stop at day 16 of the campaign. The fight against violence towards women should go on for all 365 days of the year.
