The President-elect of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, sent a letter of appreciation to the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of the congratulation message sent upon his election:

Please accept my sincere appreciation for your letter of congratulations on the occasion of my election as President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

I would like to assure you that the Republic of Macedonia can count on the Republic of Bulgaria’s support in future, and on my personal support, on the path of its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

I sincerely hope that the relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia will be further actively developed, based on the shared mutual European values for good neighbourhood relations and cooperation.
