The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation message to his counterpart Dr. Ivo Josipovic, on the occasion of the official accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union: Distinguished Mr. President, Let me extend my cordial regards on the occasion of signing the Agreement with which Croatia officially joins the European Union. It is my pleasure to greet the success achieved in meeting the requirements to join the European family. This day represents a huge historic step towards the European perspective of Western Balkan countries. Considering mine and the Republic of Macedonia’s great commitment to the process related to the EU integration, I would like to emphasize the importance of this decision, which undoubtedly is a positive signal to the other countries in the region. Your success is our success, too. Guided by the shared vision of a united and prosperous Europe, I assure you that the Republic of Macedonia, as before, is strongly committed and fully prepared to contribute to these common values in the interest of prosperity, stability and security in the region of Southeast Europe. I am convinced that our European friends and partners, in their approach towards the Balkans and Macedonia, will remain consistent and principled to this idea. Please accept warm and cordial greetings from the Republic of Macedonia and the assurances of my highest consideration. Dr. Gjorge Ivanov
