The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today, honoring the Day of the Albanian Alphabet – November 22, received the members of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts – Dr. Ali Aliu, Dr. Luan Starova and Dr. Alaidin Abazi.

The Academicians applauded the President’s gesture, expressing satisfaction with the possibility to talk with him about the importance of the Congress for Unification and Standardization of the Albanian Language, which in 1908 was held in Bitola, as well as about many other current topics from the cultural and social life, important for the Albanian citizens in the Republic of Macedonia.

President Ivanov expressed readiness such meetings to be organized traditionally. On this occasion, he congratulated the Day of the Albanian Alphabet to the Academicians and to all members of the Albanian ethnic community. President Ivanov stressed that he will continue with regular meetings in future with persons from social and cultural life of the Albanians in the Republic of Macedonia and to support their proposals and initiatives.
