The Preseident of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today received the Letters of Credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Iustinian Focsa. Interlocutors expressed mutual satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations. President Ivanov stressed that regular contacts at all levels strengthen the political dialogue between the two countries and positively affect the intensification of the relations and cooperation in all spheres. In that context was my recent official visit to Romania and the meetings with President Basescu, the President of the Senate, Geoana and the Prime Minister, Boc. Macedonian President expressed gratitude for the strong and clearly expressed support of Romania to the efforts and activities that Macedonia has been undertaking for accelerated accession to NATO and the European Union. The Republic of Macedonia received three consecutive recommendations from the European Commission for start of accession negotiations, thus I expect from the European Council meeting in December change in the status quo situation, President Ivanov stressed. Ambassador Focsa expressed his conviction that Romania will continue to be Macedonia’s supporter and partner in achieving the ultimate goal as soon as possible, full-fledged membership, which will contribute to the stability and advancement of the entire region. President Ivanov and Ambassador Focsa expressed satisfaction with the level of economic cooperation and emphasized that the there is huge potential in both countries for even greater cooperation development dynamics, particularly in the field of economy. |
