The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation message to Mr. Donald Trump on taking office as President of the United States.
 

Honorable President Trump,
 

I have the honor and pleasure to congratulate you on taking office of the 45^th President of the United States of America and to extend my best wishes for a successful execution of this high and responsible function. I take this occasion to congratulate you on assuming this office on behalf of all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.
 

Moreover, let me express hope that with mutual engagement we will personally contribute to intensifying, deepening and strengthening of the strategic partnership and friendship between the Republic of Macedonia and the United States of America, whereby I assure you of the Republic of Macedonia’s interest and willingness. I am strongly convinced that with your leadership the United States will continue on the path of progress. Yet, I believe that your leadership is significant globally as well, especially now when the world faces numerous challenges and when, more than ever, unity, mutual respect and sincere cooperation are necessary. We highly respect your views and foreign policy goals. Global order needs to strengthen friendship between the countries, without imposing interests and by respecting the right to choose given to the nations of the world. I would like to acknowledge that the Republic of Macedonia and I personally are a sincere friend and supporter.
