On the occasion of International Roma Day, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation message to the members of the Roma community in the Republic of Macedonia. Dear fellow-citizens, It is my great pleasure to congratulate you 8 April, the International Roma Day. 8 April is the day dedicated to the history and culture of Roma people, which represent the biggest ethnical minority in Europe. The observance of this day enables affirmation of the need for even greater action for integration of the Roma population in the European societies. The situation with Roma community in Macedonia and the amount of rights provided, represent an example for the world. Namely, in our country Roma people have the opportunity to be educated in their mother tongue, to vote for their political parties and candidates, and be represented in all the institutions of the state. We may correctly conclude that the Roma in Republic of Macedonia are inseparable part of the Macedonian society. Respected Roma citizens, I assure you that you that in the institution President and in my personality you can find a devoted supporter of the efforts for further improvement of the social and economical situation of Roma. Only through joint efforts of all relevant institutions and all the citizens of Republic of Macedonia we can achieve even greater successes and results in acknowledging Roma culture and advancing the well-being of Roma citizens. I heartedly congratulate you this holiday. Dr. Gjorge Ivanov
