Visit to the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Macedonia

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today visited the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Macedonia.
During the visit, President Ivanov met with Colonel Aleksandar Aleksandrov, Head of the NATO Liaison Office. The Macedonian President was informed on the activities and the work of the liaison office.
President Ivanov and Colonel Aleksandrov discussed about the level of cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and NATO, and it was agreed that the relations are at an extremely high level. The Republic of Macedonia's contribution was particularly stressed in the peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lebanon.
During the meeting, President Ivanov said that the Republic of Macedonia remains committed to the aspirations for membership in NATO, and that all objective criteria to that end have already been met. The Macedonian President said that the Republic of Macedonia will continue to provide its contribution to the stability in the region and beyond, through participation in international peacekeeping missions.
