President Ivanov awarded with Recognition for his contribution in promoting traffic safety

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received, today, representatives of the National Council for Road Traffic Safety.
At the meeting, the President of the National Council for Road Traffic Safety, Nikola Angelovski, awarded President Ivanov with recognition for his contribution in promoting traffic safety and support in the implementation of the National Strategy for Zero Children - Victims in the Traffic.
“Your commitment to improving road safety and reducing the number of children-victims, in accordance with the National Strategy, gives adequate results, and the number of children-victims is declining each year”, Angelovski said.
The representatives of the NCRTS also informed President Ivanov of their activities, in accordance with the United Nations recommendations, in order to raise public awareness on traffic safety.
President Ivanov stressed that traffic safety is an issue of great importance for everyone and necessity which constantly needs to be promoted and increased.
Raising general public awareness of the array of responsibilities of every individual in traffic is a task for all of us, which requires involvement of all relevant factors”, President Ivanov stressed and expressed support for the activities of the National Council and for the creation of an effective system for educating children about responsible and safe operation in traffic.
