The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of the beginning of the Ramadan fasting period, sent a congratulation note to the Head of the Islamic Religious Community, Reis ul Ulema Hadzi Sulejman Efendi Rexhepi and to all citizens of Islamic religion:

On my personal behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, let me congratulate the beginning of Ramadan fasting, to you, to the Riyaset of the Islamic Religious Community, to the Muftis and Imams and to all members of the Islamic religion, and wish you spend the holiday in the spirit and tradition of your religion.

Cooperation and coexistence are a priority of every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as a basis for building a prosperous and harmonious society. Islamic religion traditions are an inseparable part of our cultural heritage and are part of our everyday life. I am absolutely confident that in future, the Islamic Religious Community will continue to contribute to mutual understanding and respect of all citizens.

My earnest wish for the holy month of Ramadan is to be filled with peace, health, happiness and prosperity.
