The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov received a letter from the President of the Hellenic Republic Dr. Karolos Papoulias. The letter is a message of appreciation from President Papoulias for the message of congratulation sent by President Ivanov on the occasion of the National Day of Greece. Your Excellency, I would like to extend my most sincere appreciation for the message of congratulations on the occasion of the National Day of Greece, as well as for your wishes for the Greek people.

Greece remains fully dedicated to a fair and sustainable solution on the name issue through negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations. A definite solution on this issue will enable us to capitalize on the great potential of our bilateral relations and will contribute significantly towards the consolidation of security, stability, good neighborly relations and development in our region, in particular through the European perspective of Western Balkans.
