The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation letter to the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, on the occasion of the national holiday of Ireland, Saint Patrick.

Your Excellency,
It gives me special pleasure, on the occasion of St. Patrick, the national holiday of Ireland, on my personal behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, to extend my cordial greetings and sincere wishes for prosperity of your country and welfare of its citizens.

I avail myself of this solemn occasion to express my conviction that the relations of friendship and mutual understanding, as well as cooperation between our two countries in the coming period will be further developed and upgraded in the spirit of our shared commitments to democratic, stable, united and prosperous Europe. I would like to emphasize our full readiness in this regard. I believe soon we will have the opportunity to meet and thus provide our personal contribution and impetus for further improvement of bilateral relations and cooperation.
