Претседателот на Република Македонија д-р Ѓорге Иванов денес (17 август) ги прими акредитивните писма на новоименуваните амбасадори на Сојузна Република Германија и на Кралството Холандија.

На средбата со амбасадорот на Сојузна Република Германија Н.Е. г-ѓа Гудрун Штајнакер, Претседателот Иванов и посака добредојде на Амбасадорот Штајнакер. Претседателот Иванов истакна дека Германија, како водечка европска држава и како еден од најзначајните економски партнери на Република Македонија, е исклучително важен пријател на Република Македонија. Претседателот, на средбата со Амбасадорот Штајнакер, изјави дека за Република Македонија продолжувањето на евро-атланските интеграции претставува стратегиска одлука и единствена перспектива за натамошен економски и политички развој. Претседателот високо ја оцени улогата на Германија во интегративните процеси на Македонија и во регионот, и изрази надеж дека и со својот личен ангажман Амбасадорот Штајнакер ќе придонесе кон натамошно продлабочување на односите и засилување на соработката меѓу двете земји.

На средбата со Н.Е. г-ѓа Мариа Хенриет Шурман, амбасадор на Кралството Холандија во Република Македонија, Претседателот Иванов високо ги оцени односите и пријателството меѓу двете држави. Соработката во голем број на развојни проекти во Република Македонија во областите на економијата, технолошкиот напредок, образованието, туризмот и други области, на средбата беше оценета како исклучително важен придонес на Кралството Холандија. Претседателот Иванов изрази благодарност за постојната и силна поддршка на Кралството Холандија за реализирањето на стратегиските цели на Република Македонија – членството во НАТО и во Европската Унија – за чие реализирање оцени дека ќе даде непроценлив придонес и кон просперитетот и стабилноста на целиот регион.

Today, the Republic of Macedonia celebrates the 108th anniversary of the Ilinden uprising and the 67th anniversary of the first meeting of ASNOM. Today, every Macedonian citizen has a reason to celebrate and rejoice. Today, all Macedonians around the world celebrate, as well as each and every freedom loving humanist, each and every righteous democrat.

While celebrating 2nd August, Day of the Republic, we have an exceptional opportunity to express our gratitude to all heroes from all periods and turbulences of our people, all heroes that translated the ideals for freedom, equality and democracy into reality.

What was proclaimed in the Krusevo Manifest and well-established in the ASNOM decisions has been our reality for the past 20 years.

On the solid foundations set by our ancestors, the Republic of Macedonia, free and independent continues its development and progress. We face continual work in which the Macedonian citizens united to work on the construction of a modern and prosperous society.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia Dr. Gjorge Ivanov received today the Deputy Prime Minister for implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia.

At the meeting with Mr. Musa Xhaferi, Deputy Prime Minister in charge for implementation of the Framework Agreement the coordination in terms of marking the 10th anniversary from the signing of the Ohrid Framework Agreement was discussed as well as the foreseen activities, which will be delivered by the Secretariat for the Implementation of the Framework Agreement and under patronage of the President of the Republic of Macedonia.

At the meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Defense, Mr. Fatmir Besimi, the development and reform processes in the Ministry of Defense were discussed. At the meeting it was concluded that it is necessary to continue and reinforce the close cooperation between the Ministry and the Cabinet of the President, accordingly to the competences of President Ivanov as Supreme Commander of the armed forces of Army of the Republic of Macedonia. The interlocutors reiterated the conclusion that the Republic of Macedonia accomplished the requested reforms and achieved the level for fully-fledged membership in NATO, and that the entrance in North-Atlantic Alliance remains a high priority in the Macedonian foreign and security policy. At the meeting the preparations for the forthcoming marking of August 18th, the Day of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, were mentioned as well.

President Ivanov at the meeting with Mr. Nikola Poposki, newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, taking in consideration that President of the Republic of Macedonia effectuates exclusively close cooperation with the MFA, expressed expectation for continuation and advancement of this cooperation. President Ivanov asked Minister Poposki for greater influence and increased efficiency and quality of the work of the Ministry, as well as for proactive Macedonian diplomacy, in order to achieve the strategic priorities of the Republic of Macedonia – full membership in NATO and the European Union.

President Ivanov congratulated the election to the three newly appointed members of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and wished them a successful and responsible execution of their functions.
