Congratulation message to President Bronislaw Komorowski on the occasion of the Independence Day of Poland

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Poland, sent a congratulation message to the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronislaw Komorowski.

Distinguished Mr. President,

On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Poland, it gives me great honor and pleasure, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and on my personal behalf, to extend cordial congratulations and sincere wishes for further prosperity and welfare of your country and the friendly Polish people.

Expressing satisfaction with the current development of relations and cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Poland, I am convinced that we will be able to further promote and intensify our ties with joint commitment, in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding, with an increased dynamics in all spheres of mutual interest.

Allow me to use this solemn occasion to express my gratitude for the support of the Republic of Poland in the implementation of the strategic goals. Considering our shared efforts for a united, stable and prosperous Europe, I am confident that the support will not be left out, especially in this crucial period, when the Republic of Poland has the presidency of the European Union. I believe that the Republic of Poland will help at the upcoming European Council, the Republic of Macedonia to be enabled to proceed to the next phase of integration – setting of a date and start of accession negotiations.

Distinguished Mr. President, looking forward to our meeting soon, please, accept the assurances of my highest consideration.

The newly accredited Ambassador of Poland, Przemyslaw Szyz presents his Credentials

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov received today the Letters of Credence of the newly accredited Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Macedonia, Przemyslav Szyz.

At the meeting with Ambassador Szyz, President Ivanov expressed satisfaction with the current development of the friendly relations between both countries and the fruitful political dialogue, emphasizing that there is huge potential for further expansion of the overall cooperation, especially in the sphere of economy.

President Ivanov stressed that the Republic of Poland is one of the most important partners of our country, and that we cherish traditional relations of friendship. The support for Macedonia’s membership into the European Union and NATO, as well as the position to use the constitutional name of the state is highly appreciated by the Macedonian citizens. The President expressed his expectation that the Republic of Poland, during its EU Presidency, will help a date for starting negotiations be set at the December’s meeting of the European Council, stressing that the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia expect equal and fair treatment, and that integration is allowed in parallel with the process of resolving bilateral issues.

”I expect this support to continue in the upcoming crucial period before the European Council meeting in December. The Republic of Macedonia is encouraged by the commitment of the Polish Presidency for accelerated integration of Western Balkan countries. The process of European integration is one of the key integration factors and a driving force of the reform processes, thus it enjoys absolute political, ethnic and social consensus”, President Ivanov said.

Ambassador Szyz conveyed President Ivanov the Polish position and the attitude that the Republic of Macedonia can always count on Poland’s support. Ambassador Szyz stressed that he will continue to fully support the efforts of the country for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Both interlocutors exchanged information on the development and improvement of the investment and the overall business climate in the country and the opportunities for future Polish investments.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of the religious holiday Kurban Bairam sent a congratulation note to the Head of the Islamic Religious Community Reis Ul Ulema Sulejman efendi Rehxepi.

Let me extend my cordial congratulations to you personally, to the members of the Riyaset, muftis, imams and to all citizens of Islamic religion in the Republic of Macedonia on the occasion of the great Muslim holiday Kurban Bairam.

 
Kurban Bairam is a holiday of solidarity, sharing and unity. It is a day when prosperity extends a hand to poverty, a day that highlights all human virtues. I earnestly wish that you all spend the holiday in good health, joy, happiness and harmony sharing love with your closest ones.

 
May you spend this year’s celebration in this spirit, in which all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, with respect and understanding will share common values of humanism and solidarity.

    
Availing myself of this opportunity, I would like to underline that the temptations and challenges that our society and country are facing, can be addressed only by a common language of unity. Only united we can walk the path of success and progress. May this holiday unite us in our common efforts in building a prosperous Macedonia.

 
I am convinced that the Islamic religious community and all its believers, as an inseparable part of the Macedonian society, will continue to be active stakeholders in building coexistence and understanding between different faiths and ethnic groups in the Republic of Macedonia.

Newly appointed Ambassador of Romania, Iustinian Focsa, presents the Letters of Credence

The Preseident of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today received the Letters of Credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Iustinian Focsa.

Interlocutors expressed mutual satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations. President Ivanov stressed that regular contacts at all levels strengthen the political dialogue between the two countries and positively affect the intensification of the relations and cooperation in all spheres. In that context was my recent official visit to Romania and the meetings with President Basescu, the President of the Senate, Geoana and the Prime Minister, Boc.

Macedonian President expressed gratitude for the strong and clearly expressed support of Romania to the efforts and activities that Macedonia has been undertaking for accelerated accession to NATO and the European Union. The Republic of Macedonia received three consecutive recommendations from the European Commission for start of accession negotiations, thus I expect from the European Council meeting in December change in the status quo situation, President Ivanov stressed.

Ambassador Focsa expressed his conviction that Romania will continue to be Macedonia’s supporter and partner in achieving the ultimate goal as soon as possible, full-fledged membership, which will contribute to the stability and advancement of the entire region.

President Ivanov and Ambassador Focsa expressed satisfaction with the level of economic cooperation and emphasized that the there is huge potential in both countries for even greater cooperation development dynamics, particularly in the field of economy.
