This day represents a huge historic step towards the European perspective of Western Balkan countries. Considering mine and the Republic of Macedonia’s great commitment to the process related to the EU integration, I would like to emphasize the importance of this decision, which undoubtedly is a positive signal to the other countries in the region. Your success is our success, too. Guided by the shared vision of a united and prosperous Europe, I assure you that the Republic of Macedonia, as before, is strongly committed and fully prepared to contribute to these common values in the interest of prosperity, stability and security in the region of Southeast Europe. On my personal behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, to you personally, to the members of the Holy Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church and to all Orthodox believers in this country and abroad, I would like to extend most sincere and cordial greetings on the occasion of the great Christian holiday St. Clement of Ohrid.

Observing the day of St. Clement of Ohrid is not only significant for the Republic of Macedonia, but also for the European culture and civilization. The spiritual and secular role of St. Clement of Ohrid, reflected in his endeavor as a founder of the Ohrid Archbishopric, of the Ohrid Literary School and architect of the Cyrillic Alphabet, has not lost its importance even today, being an expression of freedom, humanism, openness.

St. Clement of Ohrid has, in the holy Macedonian Orthodox Church and in the heart of every Orthodox believer, a faithful guardian and supporter of the noble ideas for enlightened humanity and a world abounding with love, prosperity and understanding.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today received the Ambassadors of the European Union member states, accredited to the Republic of Macedonia.

At the meeting, views and information on yesterday’s ruling by the International Court of Justice in The Hague were exchanged.

President Ivanov stressed that the Republic of Macedonia urges compliance and effective implementation of the Interim Accord by respecting the international law.

The Macedonian President emphasized it is essential issue at this point that there is no better way Greece to demonstrate its commitment and respect of the Interim Accord, the ICJ ruling, than to unblock the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia.

President Ivanov expressed hope that the observance and effective implementation of the Interim Accord will contribute to creating a positive climate for finding a solution in the UN-led process, i.e. the talks with Greece over the difference concerning our constitutional name.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov received today the Ambassadors of the permanent member states of the United Nations Security Council (U.S., Russian Federation, United Kingdom, French Republic and the People’s Republic of China) accredited to the Republic of Macedonia.

At the meeting, views and information on yesterday’s ruling by the International Court of Justice in The Hague were exchanged.

President Ivanov, before the Ambassadors of the permanent member states of the UN Security Council, urged compliance and effective implementation of the Interim Accord. Namely, he requested the same what the International Court of Justice requests. - We ask the judgment and the Interim Accord to be fully respected by respecting the international law, stressed President Ivanov.

The Macedonian President expressed hope that the observance and effective implementation of the Interim Accord will contribute to unblock our Euro-Atlantic integration and will create a positive climate for finding a solution in the UN-led process, i.e. the talks with Greece over the difference concerning our constitutional name.

President Ivanov stressed that there is no better way Greece to demonstrate its good will for good neighborly relations than to refrain from further violations of the Interim Accord. - This is essential issues at this point, the Macedonian President concluded.
