The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today, on the occasion of St. Sava, met professors and students of the Serbian language and literature study group, within the Department of Macedonian and South Slavic Languages, Faculty of Philology "Blaze Koneski" - Skopje.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the Serbian language and Serbian culture in the Republic of Macedonia. At the same time, the guests informed President Ivanov on the current activities and functioning of the study group, their future plans and challenges faced by the graduated students.
"This is the first time our students are officially received by a President of the Republic of Macedonia and I think this is an excellent opportunity to meet and exchange opinions with the President", Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Sarzoska, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philology said.
"It is an honor to be received by the President and to discuss with him all issues related to the faculty and our education system. Even greater is the honor that he received us on St. Sava, he heard us, and gave us advice which is of vital importance for us", said Marijana Dimovska, student of the Serbian language and literature study group.
The Serbian Language and Literature Study Group was established in 2007 upon the initiative of the members of the Department, whereas three generations of students have enrolled so far.
