The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, within his working visit to the People's Republic of China, in Chengdu, met with Mr. Wang Dongming, Chairman of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress.

The meeting reaffirmed the readiness to intensify cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and Sichuan Province. Mr. Dongming briefed President Ivanov on the achievements of Sichuan in the economic sphere, as well as on the future plans.

President Ivanov informed the interlocutor about constructive meeting with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, and reiterated the readiness to boost economic, cultural, educational and scientific cooperation, and the cooperation in the field of medicine, acknowledging the efforts made by the Government for a better investment environment. Mr. Dongming expressed satisfaction that President Ivanov, despite partaking at the economic forum in Chengdu, will also visit two universities for Traditional Chinese Medicine and for Finance and Economics.

During his stay in Chengdu, President Ivanov visited Volvo production base of Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd.
