Macedonia - Turkey bilateral relations are excellent, at the level of traditional friendship, with all elements of strategic partnership and even greater potential for overall cooperation which should be further utilized in the next period.

This is the common assessment of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held on the sidelines of the 5th Global Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations.

President Ivanov informed the Turkish Prime Minister about the latest developments in terms of Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration and the challenges and obstacles the country is facing in this regard.

Both interlocutors exchanged views and information on the developments in the Balkan region, as well as on the issues of foreign policy concern of both countries.
