The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today, received the Macedonian Women's Handball Team that will compete at the European Handball Championship in the period 4 - 16 December 2012 in Serbia.

Conveying them his absolute support, President Ivanov wished the players much success and expressed hope that they will win, noting that if there is a desire, than everything can be achieved.

“We all wish you success and many victories. We know it will be difficult, but in Nish, ten months ago, we proved that everything is possible. When you have the ball in your hands, I am sure you will do your best. I expect the overwhelming support by the Macedonian audience and the past successes will strengthen your motivation”, the President said.

The players rewarded the President with a flag with all their signatures, as a symbol of team spirit in the Macedonian female handball.

The team captain, Tanja Andrejeva, expressing her gratitude to the President for the reception, said that his support is highly appreciated and is an additional instigation. She promised good game at this championship.

The handball player Dragana Pecevska emphasized that their goal is to pass the group with two wins in order to have a better ranking.

“We are ready and we will do our best to achieve success”, Pecevska added.

Women's handball team will represent Macedonia in the sports hall in Nish and will have the opportunity to prove its potential in Group B against the national teams of Sweden, France and Denmark.

In the first match which will be played on December 4, opponent of the team selected by coach Gino Strezovski will be the French team. On December 6, Macedonia will play against Sweden, and two days later, at the last duel, the Macedonian team will play against Denmark.
