Under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, today in Kavadarci the 49th National Competition for Young Technicians and Natural Scientists from the Republic of Macedonia was opened, organized by Narodna Tehnika na Makedonija.

President Ivanov wished success in the competition to the students from the primary schools in the country, and told them that they are the future of the Republic of Macedonia, and that knowledge is what will lead them into the world of science and technical thought. - This is the place to show your knowledge, your creativity and inventiveness. I believe you are the best. I hope that you will be stimulus and motivation for other students. This is satisfaction for your parents and your teachers, the president said at the opening of this national competition.

At the competition 280 students from primary schools in Macedonia in 23 natural and technical sciences disciplines. This is the final competition at school, municipal, regional and national level held during this month with participation of around 1200 primary school students at 14 regional competitions.

- The activities of Narodna Tehnika that directs young people to creative work, invention and development of competitive spirit are of paramount importance for the future of the Republic of Macedonia. This traditional competition is an event that deserves attention from all relevant institutions, President Ivanov said.

The President had a meeting with the leadership of Narodna Tehnika, and was informed of their current activities and future plans of this institution towards achieving the goal of the Republic of Macedonia to establish and stimulate young people to study at technical faculties, which will result in establishing quality and skilled staff for the development and promotion of the Macedonian economy. Organizers of the event thanked President Ivanov for his continuous support, especially when it comes to projects in the field of education and science.

The primary school “Tosho Velkov Pepeto” -  was this year’s host of the national competition.
