Respected Academician Gligor Chemerski, Distinguished Minister of Culture, Ms. Elizabeta Kancheska Milevska, Esteemed Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is said that people will be recognized by their works. Moreover, it is undisputed that good people create and leave good things.
Macedonia is a mother that has always given great people who have changed the world, who have enlightened, created and left behind lasting values.
We are proud that one of them is academic painter, Gligor Chemerski, who is acknowledged and recognized worldwide.
Therefore, it is my extraordinary honor to be hosting an exhibition of his works, which for a few days will be displayed in Moscow within the accession exhibition at the Russian Academy of Sciences – Imperial in Moscow.
The fact itself that Academician Chemerski is proclaimed as honorary member of the Russian Art Academy is a great success for this outstanding Macedonian artist and for the Macedonian culture and arts.
Dear Friends,
In the past two decades, we have rediscovered the long historical, spiritual, cultural and linguistic traditions between Macedonia and Russia. Tradition that goes back to the time of Samoil.
As Macedonia was important for Russia in the 11th century, Russia was important for Macedonia in the 19th and 20th century. Macedonian renaissance artists like Zografski and Miladinov, Zhinzifov and Pulevski, were inspired and worked in Russia. Misirkov and Chuposki, Dimov and Konstantinovich, worked there as well.
With their works, they kept the gate open for cultural cooperation between Macedonia and Russia. Our esteemed academic painter, Gligor Chemerski, passes today through that gate. I wish him a lot of possibilities to verify his prolific works that will pave the path to promotion of Macedonian culture and art.
Enjoy the exhibition!
