It is a real honor for me to address you this evening at the opening of the European Junior Women's and Men's Wrestling Championship. I take this opportunity to congratulate every one of you who has managed, with your dedication, strength and skill, to fight for participation in this Championship. This Championship is a symbol of human struggle and strive to be better and more successful.


Ladies and Gentlemen,

Sport has two main roles. Through discipline, endurance and commitment it creates healthy and responsible individuals and generations. The second, the universal role is to destroy boundaries, to connect people and to bring athletes and their loyal fans together. This European Championship unites these two roles of sport.

I am really proud that the Republic of Macedonia is hosting this important sporting event. With its long tradition, Macedonian wrestling is our most awarded sport internationally. But even more important is the opportunity you are given, the wrestlers participating in this Junior Championship. You are the present and the future of the European wrestling. We give you all the support to continue achieving great results in this sport category.

I take this occasion to express my thankfulness to the European and the World Wrestling Federation for the given opportunity to host this event. I thank our wrestling federation for all the activities and preparations in organizing this Championship. I have no doubt that this will be a long discussed success.

I believe that you will give your best at the mattress and will impress the audience. I wish you a memorable championship, highest sport achievements and results and making friends with other participants.

Do not forget. In sports, as in life, the difference between the impossible and the possible lies in man's persistence. Only the most determined reach the end. On this note, I declare this championship open.
