The President of Republic of Macedonia Dr. Gjorge Ivanov as of tomorrow, 06.20.2011 until 08.10.2011 will realize an official visit to Romania, upon invitation of his Romanian colleague, President Trajan Basesku. In frames of the visit President Ivanov will also meet the president of the Senate, Mr. Mircea Joana and the president of the Romanian Government Mr. Emile Bok.   

During this official visit to Romania two bilateral agreements will be signed between Republic of Macedonia and Romania – an Agreement for economical, scientific and technical cooperation, and an Agreement for cooperation in the area of tourism.

The Senate of the Christian University “Dimitrie Cantemir” at a solemn ceremony will award the President of Republic of Macedonia Dr. Gjorge Ivanov the title „Doctor Honoris Causa“.

At the second day of the visit President Ivanov will address the Economic Forum in Bucharest organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Romania. President Ivanov and the Macedonian delegation will also meet representatives of the Macedonian Community in Romania, where a ceremony for awarding an Order of Merit for Macedonia to Ms. Liana Dumitrescu will be held. Ms. Dumitrescu was a MP that has been actively representing the Macedonian in the Romanian Parliament.

President Dr. Gjorge Ivanov will wrap-up the official visit to Romania by visiting the town of Jashi.
