Meeting with Mr. Hoyt Brian Yee, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs of the United States

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, met today with Mr. Hoyt Brian Yee, Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs of the United States.
The meeting discussed the new political situation and the possibilities to overcome it in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Macedonia.
The Macedonian President condemns any political and physical violence in the Republic of Macedonia and stressed that only through dialogue solutions must be sought.
President Ivanov stressed that if there is a true leadership of the presidents of the parliamentary parties, the legal and political obstacles to determining the mandate to form the Government can be overcome.
The Macedonian President asked the United States, as a strategic partner of the Republic of Macedonia, to help the obstacles to be removed and allow the parliamentary majority to get the mandate.
The precedents that introduce practices and the illegal becomes legal undermine the basic democratic principles, President Ivanov said .
President Ivanov asks the SDSM leader to fulfill what he publicly stated that "together with the coalition partners they will come and provide guarantees to strengthen the unity of the state and that everything will be in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia".
The platform of Tirana can not be a condition, nor the basis for government formation in the Republic of Macedonia, the Macedonian President stated .
President Ivanov urged the citizens to remain restrained and patient, because there are decisions that should be made with reason and through dialogue.
