The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, held a meeting today with the heads of the services responsible for preventing and dealing with the crisis situation, reducing the risk of terrorist attacks and ensuring sustainability of the election.

At the meeting, the directors of the Intelligence Agency, the Administration for Security and Counterintelligence, the Bureau of Public Security, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and the representatives of the General Staff informed President Ivanov about the threats and risks facing the Republic of Macedonia, the degree of risk endangering state security, the method of operation, the anticipated scenarios, planned activities, weaknesses and capacities for response.

Because of the constant threat of illegal migration coming from the territory of NATO and EU member states, in Macedonia, from August 2015 to June 2017, is declared crisis situation, the crisis management is activated with functional joint military-civilian headquarters for protection of borders and surveillance of the corridors.

The meeting concluded that the crisis management subjects in charge of prevention and management, the intelligence, army and police, 15 months implement the planned activities and have anticipated some scenarios and response in cases of increased risks of threat.
