The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of St. Sava sent a congratulation message to the members of the Serbian community in the Republic of Macedonia.

Dear fellow-citizens,

Allow me, as President of the Republic of Macedonia, on behalf of all citizens of this country, to congratulate you today’s great holiday, St. Sava. Serbian community in Macedonia, its traditions and customs, gatherings and historical persons are an important part of the common cultural heritage of the Republic of Macedonia. Joint celebrations contribute to praising wealth and better acquaintance with our highest values, which should identify us both in the region and in Europe.

Today we are celebrating the person who gave up the worldly power and authority to be remembered over the centuries as legislator. A person who led the nation with knowledge and wit. We can rely on such examples of centuries-long accumulated wisdom and knowledge of our peoples in order to make progress and successes in future.

May we celebrate this holiday for ages.

Dr. Gjorge Ivanov
