The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the death of the former President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Suleyman Demirel, sent a letter of condolences to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It is with deep regret that I learned of the death of the former President of the Republic of Turkey and a great friend of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Suleyman Demirel. Allow me, Mr. President, on my behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, to extend my deepest condolences.
President Demirel was our great and proven friend. In the recollection of the Macedonian citizens will remain engraved the memories of his role in the process of international recognition of the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name. We remain grateful for his personal contribution to the establishment, development and strengthening of the relations, mutual respect and understanding between our two countries and peoples.
Remembered and respected will be his role in transforming the entire Balkan region, the achievement of stability and security, as well as its Euro-Atlantic future.
Please, Mr. President, convey the deepest condolences to the citizens of the Republic of Turkey and to President Demirel's family.
