The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, sent a congratulation message to the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr.  Prokopis Pavlopoulos, on the occasion of the National Day of the Hellenic Republic.


Your Excellency,

It is a particular honor and pleasure, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and on my personal behalf, to congratulate you on the National Day of the Hellenic Republic and to express our most sincere wishes for further prosperity of your country and wellbeing of its citizens.

I avail myself of this opportunity to underline that building good neighborly relations, regional stability and cooperation, integration in the European Union and NATO are areas which represent a highest priority for us. In line with this, I wish to assure you in my personal full readiness as well as that of the Republic of Macedonia, to closely cooperate with you and the Hellenic Republic.

I sincerely hope that with joint efforts we will overcome the difference in our relations and that we will succeed in compensating for all that has been lost in these past two decades. I am convinced that with joint commitments, we shall be able to create a positive climate of mutual trust and respect, thus encouraging cooperation in all areas of common interest and providing a prosperous future for our citizens.
