Constitutional session of the Security Council of the Republic of Macedonia

SB1Today, 30.09.2014, Tuesday, the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia convened the constitutional session of the Security Council of the Republic of Macedonia.

At the session, the Security Council defined the activities related to the issues of security and defense of the Republic for the coming period in order to provide adequate proposals to the Parliament and the Government, as well as opinions on specific norms in the field of security and defense adopted by the Head of State under the Constitution and the laws.

The Security Council concluded that the national security system subjects successfully implement the duties within the scope of their competences, that they operate at the highest possible level and that there is coordination and cooperation among the stakeholders in order to further strengthen the national security facilities

The Security Council also concluded at the session that the national security system subjects need to strengthen their activities for the purpose of providing timely warning of possible threats and risks to the national security and to improve and develop the system for early warning, prevention and countermeasures for possible threats and risks.

The members of the Security Council exchanged information and views on the latest developments in Syria and Iraq and their impact in our region and in the Republic of Macedonia in particular. Special emphasis was put on the presence and recruitment of citizens from our region, including the Republic of Macedonia in those crises regions.
