The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of the election as President of the Republic of Turkey, sent a congratulation message to Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President-elect of the Republic of Turkey.

Distinguished Mr. Erdogan,

With great pleasure I received the news that the Turkish citizens have given you their trust and elected you as President of the Republic of Turkey. On my personal behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, I am extending you cordial congratulations for the election and sincere wishes for successful execution of the responsible function.

Allow me, distinguished Mr. President, on this solemn occasion to express my satisfaction with the exceptionally high level of traditional friendly relations and cooperation between our countries. I am convinced that in the future the cooperation will not only continue but will be intensified in all areas of mutual interest, thus I want to reiterate my and the Republic of Macedonia's readiness. I would like to express my gratitude for the unconditional support that the Republic of Turkey gives to the Republic of Macedonia on the road to the Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as to emphasize the utmost belief and expectation that it will continue in the coming period.
