The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, met today with the Minister of National Defence of People’s Republic of China, General Liang Guanglie.

At the meeting, President Ivanov expressed satisfaction with the level of political dialogue between both countries, which contributes to continuous improvement and deepening of bilateral cooperation and expressed appreciation for the continued support that the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia gets from the Chinese Ministry of National Defence.

The Minister of Defence of People’s Republic of China expressed interest in continuing the bilateral cooperation in the area of defense and in all areas of common interest, as well as readiness for further multilateral cooperation within international organizations.
Both interlocutors exchanged views on the opportunities for intensification of the economic cooperation, whereas President Ivanov expressed the readiness of the Republic of Macedonia to boost trade exchange and investment cooperation, commending the established legal framework between the two countries.

During the meeting with the Chinese Minister, President Ivanov extended his congratulations to the newly elected leadership in China, expressing his hope that the excellent cooperation will be further developed and promoted with the same dynamics.
