The President of the Republic of Macedonia Dr. Gjorge Ivanov sent a letter of congratulations to the Greek President Karolos Papoulias on the occasion of the Day of Independence of the Hellenic Republic.

   
Distinguished Mr. President,

It is my special pleasure, on the occasion of the Day of Independence of the Hellenic Republic, on my personal behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, to extend cordial greetings and sincere wishes for prosperity of your country and wellbeing of its citizens.

Allow me to reaffirm our strong commitment for promotion of the good-neighborly relations and dialogue with your country, as well as to share my deep belief that, with joint commitment and cooperation, we can create positive environment of mutual trust and respect, thus ensuring prosperous future for our citizens.

I avail myself of this solemn opportunity to express the Republic of Macedonia’s readiness for deepening of cooperation with all neighboring countries on the road to full-fledged European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the region, as well as to convey my conviction that the support by your country as an EU and NATO member-state would greatly contribute to this common goal.
