The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Mrs. Viorica Dancila, President of the Government of Romania.

The two interlocutors concluded that the relations between the two countries are characterized by a high level of friendship, constructive and open political dialogue.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged about the current political developments in the Republic of Macedonia and in Romania, as well as about the challenges faced by the region of Southeast Europe.

President Ivanov stressed that peace, stability and security of the region are crucial for the entire European continent. For this purpose, it is necessary to boost regional cooperation and strengthen mutual trust and support, President Ivanov said at the meeting.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the strategic goals and foreign political priorities of the Republic of Macedonia and expressed readiness for further deepening of the cooperation on a bilateral, regional and multilateral plan.

The meeting also exchanged opinions and information on the possibilities for further deepening of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest, and a special emphasis was put on the need to strengthen the economic cooperation.

Претседателот на Република Македонија, д-р Ѓорге Иванов денеска во Вила Билјана во Охрид ги прими акредитивните писма на новоименуваните амбасадори на Обединетото Кралство на Велика Британија и Северна Ирска и на Кралството Саудиска Арабија во Република Македонија.

На предавањето на акредитивните писма од страна на новоименуваниот амбасадор на Обединетото Кралство на Велика Британија и Северна Ирска, Н.Е. г-а Рејчел Галовеј, претседателот Иванов оцени дека постои заеднички интерес за натамошно интензивирање на одличните билатерални односи меѓу Република Македонија и Обединетото Кралство и го потенцираше интересот на Република Македонија за интензивирање на економската соработка и размена.

„Оваа година, Република Македонија одбележува 25 години од воспоставување дипломатски односи со Вашата земја. Од 1993 година, Македонија и Обединетото Кралство во континуитет градат пријателски релации особено во контекст на британската поддршка и помош за Република Македонија и за нејзиниот пат кон Европската Унија и НАТО. Во оваа свечена пригода би сакал да истакнам дека граѓаните на Република Македонија се посебно благодарни за поддршката што Обединетото Кралство ја дава во остварувањето на македонските стратешки приоритети", рече претседателот Иванов.

Амбасадорката Галовеј истакна дека Обединетото Кралство е долгогодишен и искрен партнер на Република Македонија и поддржувач на апсирациите на земјата за членство во Европската Унија и во НАТО.

„Западниот Балкан е значаен регион за Обединетото Кралство, што го покажавме со неодамнешниот самит во Лондон на којшто нашиот премиер беше домаќин. Ние ја зголемуваме нашата поддршка и за Македонија и за регионот со цел да ги поддржиме вашите напори за градење просперитет во безбедно и стабилно соседство. Успехот во овие области ќе биде од корист за Обединетото Кралство и за Европа како целина", рече амбасадорката Галовеј.

На средбата со новоименуваниот амбасадор на Кралството Саудиска Арабија во Република Македонија, со седиште во Тирана, Н.Е. г. Абдулмомен бин Мохамед Шараф, македонскиот претседател го потенцираше интересот на Република Македонија за унапредување на севкупната соработка со Кралството Саудиска Арабија, особено во делот на економската соработка и трговската размена. Претседателот Иванов изрази уверување дека амбасадорот Шараф со своето дипломатско и професионално искуство ќе придонесе во развивањето на билатералните односи меѓу двете земји.

Претседателот Иванов на новоименуваните амбасадори им честита за функцијата и им посака успех во вршењето на одговорната дипломатска должност.

I was deeply saddened when I heard the news of the catastrophic fires that raged in the region of Athens and caused a real tragedy in your country. I sincerely regret the fatalities in this terrible disaster.

In these moments of national mourning, let me express my deepest condolences, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and on my personal behalf.

Please, your Excellency, convey our condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and injured in this huge tragedy.

Dr. Gjorge Ivanov

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Mr. Zhang Qingli, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese Political and Consultative Council.

The meeting exchanged views on the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the People's Republic of China in the year that marks 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the exceptional progress achieved in the overall bilateral relations and concluded that there are huge potentials for further deepening of the cooperation, especially in the economic, cultural and educational field.

President Ivanov at the meeting pointed out that fostering long-standing friendship, strengthening and promoting a genuine partnership with the People's Republic of China is a permanent commitment of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Macedonian President reiterated the position of the Republic of Macedonia in support of the "One China" policy, as a basis for further deepening of the friendly relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, President Ivanov expressed satisfaction with the successful political dialogue within the process of cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the 16 + 1 format, pointing out that the Republic of Macedonia has an active and constructive role in the process.

President Ivanov also pointed out the importance of strengthening the cooperation of both countries within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, through implementation of concrete joint projects in the infrastructure and energy.
