The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, accompanied by the Mayor of the Municipality of Kichevo, Blagoja Despotoski and the MP of this region, Antonio Miloshoski, today visited the Monastery “St. Virgin Mary” where, traditionally, the nativity of the Virgin, the day when Mary, mother of Jesus was born, is celebrated.
The Head of the State said that the Monastery “St. Virgin Mary” is visited both by Christians and Muslims, which is an indication of good coexistence that exists and is cherished in Kichevo.
At the meeting with Mayor Despotoski, President Ivanov was informed about the situation in the municipality, i.e. what was inherited from the past and what has been achieved as progress in the recent period. According to President Ivanov, it is positive that the municipality has invested a lot in infrastructure development, which in turn, contributes to the improvement of the standard of living for the citizens.
”I am also glad wit the fact that the higher education and the newly established universities introduce changes to the city, thus, many young people from Kichevo do not have to travel to other cities; they are educated here, and that is a huge potential for the municipality. Conditions are created for attracting foreign investment because the potentials of Kichevo give hope for economic prosperity, which would affect the quality of life of the citizens”, President Ivanov stressed. He expressed interest in the industrial zone “Ivanidol 2” and in the conditions that are being created for attracting investment in the municipality.
After the walk along the Kichevo Bazaar, President Ivanov, along with his hosts, Mayor Despotovski and MP Miloshoski, visited the House of Art in Knezhino.
