The President of the Republic of Macedonia Dr. Gjorge Ivanov today had a working visit to the town of Gevgelija.

In frames of the visit President Ivanov met the representatives of the local self-government, as well as representatives of social institutions and organizations of this municipality.

At the meeting with the Mayor of Gevgelija Mr. Ivan Frangovski, the topics discussed were related to the actual social and economic situation in the country. President Ivanov at the seat of the Gevgelija Municipality Council has also met the representatives of the counseling groups of the political parties represented in the Council. They have informed the President on the important projects envisaged by the local authorities, which will contribute to the overall development and progress of Gevgelija. President Ivanov expressed his full support for these developmental projects.

The President has also attended the ceremonial event which marked 50 years since the founding of the kindergarten “Detska Gradinka”, visited the exhibition of the painting artists of Gevgelija, as well as the object of the People’s Theater of Gevgelija which is in a phase of reconstruction. At this point he highlighted that such initiatives are enriching the town’s cultural life.

President Ivanov in frames of the visit to the Municipality of Gevgelija had an opportunity to meet with the people of this town, which have expressed their warm welcome and used the occasion to greet the Macedonian President.
