Today, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov had a meeting with the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Yiannis Boutaris, as well as with representatives of the Chambers of Commerce of the Republic of Macedonia and the Hellenic Republic, representatives of the media from the two countries and university professors.

These meetings of President Ivanov follow after a series of successful meetings of representatives of different sectors from both countries whose discussions were focused on joint projects in the areas of investment promotion, economic cooperation, university cooperation and joint projects for environment protection.

In the wider context of the confidence building measures between the two countries, President Ivanov stated that "mutual cooperation between the two societies is a proof that solutions to the challenges ahead of us are indeed possible, and the things that unite us are far more numerous than the ones that divide us".
