Visiting the Jazz Workshop in the Secondary Music School “Ilija Nikolovski – Luj” in Skopje

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, visited the jazz workshop held in the Secondary Music School "Ilija Nikolovski – Luj" in Skopje. The workshop that is part of Apollonia Jazz Project is a joint initiative involving top jazz connoisseurs and professionals from around the world.
Associates in this year's event are the Jazz Workshop of the Music School in New York, the Apollonia Foundation in Gevgelija, the Institute for the Study of European Small States in Monaco, the Secondary Music School "Ilija Nikolovski – Luj" in Skopje, the Jazz Department at the University "Goce Delchev" in Stip and the Skopje Jazz Festival.
The "Apollonia Jazz Project" consists of a two-day seminar, workshop and performances led by Mr. Mark Momas from the New York Jazz Workshop (NYJW). Momas is the developer of the "Apollonia Jazz Workshop" aimed to introduce his authentic style of American jazz improvisation and theory to the participants and students of music. Students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience playing with professionals who participate in this event and together to explore various jazz harmonic, melodic and rhythmic elements.
