The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Archbishop Eugene, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary, who is paying an official visit to Macedonia at the invitation of the St. Cyril and Methodius University.

President Ivanov noted that the visit to the Republic of Macedonia and their second meeting is a proof of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, of the successful cooperation between the two universities and between the two churches.

At the meeting, which is held in the year when the Republic of Macedonia and the Russian Federation mark 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction that the overall excellent cooperation between the two countries is now deepening with the scientific and educational cooperation between the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary and the St. Cyril and Methodius University.

Archbishop Eugene conveyed greetings of the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill I, to President Ivanov.
