The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, ahead of May 23, the National Day of Vlachs, met with representatives of the Vlach community in the Republic of Macedonia.

The representatives of the Vlach community in the Republic of Macedonia, also congratulated him the presidential election victory and expressed appreciation for the commitment of President Ivanov in building our multilingual, multicultural and multiethnic democratic society, which is an example in the region.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the situation of the Vlach community in the exercise of their rights, and President Ivanov was informed about the activities undertaken to promote the Vlach culture, language and traditions in the Republic of Macedonia.

Emphasizing that the Vlachs in the Republic of Macedonia are constitutionally recognized, socially valued and loyal citizens, President Ivanov said that Vlachs actively participate and build the Macedonian model of coexistence, which is based on tolerance and respect for the culture and customs of others.
