jazz0On the occasion of the International Jazz Day, April 30, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, hosted a reception for prominent jazz musicians from the country and abroad, as well as representatives of the only jazz radio in the Republic of Macedonia, "Jazz FM".

President Ivanov congratulated the jazz musicians' day and noted that, as before, he will continue to support jazz music in the future and encourage the promotion of jazz culture in the Republic of Macedonia.

The Macedonian President, as a big fan and connoisseur of jazz music, exchanged views with the jazz musicians on the celebration of the International Jazz Day, on the latest developments on the national and world jazz scene, as well as on the overall creativity that is typical for this type of music.

The musicians congratulated President Ivanov's victory in the presidential elections and said that it is a great pleasure, for the next five years, at the helm of the state to be a man who is a fan and supporter of jazz music. At the same time, they expressed gratitude for the continuous meetings and recognitions by President Ivanov for their work and for the jazz event promoting the jazz culture in the Republic of Macedonia which was organized last year by the Presidential Cabinet, in Villa "Vodno".

In November 2011, UNESCO officially declared April 30 as the International Jazz Day, in order to highlight its important role and mission of uniting people worldwide.
