Meeting with a delegation of the Ad-hoc Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to monitor the presidential elections in the Republic of Macedonia

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, held a meeting today with a delegation of the Ad-hoc Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to monitor the presidential elections in the Republic of Macedonia, led by Mr. Stefan Schennah.
At the meeting, President Ivanov expressed his conviction that the Republic of Macedonia and its institutions have proven capacity to conduct elections in line with the European standards. I expect all participants in the elections, especially the political parties, to observe the election rules and laws, to act responsibly by respecting the democratic standards and in fair atmosphere to conduct the election process, the Macedonian President stressed at the meeting.
The Members of the Ad-hoc Committee to monitor the presidential elections of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe informed President Ivanov on their mission related to the upcoming election process in the Republic of Macedonia. During the meeting, they exchanged views and information on the role of particular segments and stakeholders in the electoral process.
